The Old Fort- Restoration
Rebuilt one piece at a time, beginning with the blockhouse facing Spy Run, then moving through the doctor’s quarters, commander’s barracks and junior officers’ quarters. Now, they’re taking on the largest structure: the enlisted men’s barracks.  Mission is To educate the community about Historic Fort Wayne and its significance to the Northwest Territory, the State of Indiana, and the United States during the 17th and 18th centuries; we will foster an educational experience through interactive programming, as well as by continuously maintaining and restoring the physical structures of Historic Fort Wayne in order that programs may be presented in a historically accurate, period setting.

The Lawton Park Greenhouse has been a fixture of the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department since the early 1920s. Employees at the greenhouse are responsible for growing over 130,000 plants for all of the Parks Department's floral needs.  Also tour the Garage, Barns, Offices and Classroom

Three Rivers Water Filtration PlantThe Three Rivers Water Filtration Plant was constructed at the confluence of Fort Wayne’s three rivers in 1933. When it was built, it had the capacity to produce 24 million gallons of treated water per day (MGD). Since the original construction there have been two major additions: a 24 MGD expansion in 1955 and a 24 MGD addition in 1981. The total capacity of the Plant today is 72 million gallons per day, enough to supply the needs of Fort Wayne for at least the next 10 to 15 years.

Friday, November 6 - Fort Wayne Zoo

Fort Wayne Zoo
Many upgrades have take place at the Zoo for you to see plus all the existing exhibits that are always fun to see in your behind the scene tours

The zoo's latest developments and upgrades include:

·        Coastal Cove: This redesigned habitat combines California Sea Lions and harbor seals. It features sunny beach areas, improved shade structures, and brand new swan-shaped paddle boats nearby.

·        African Veldt Expansion: A new 17,000-square-foot facility doubles previous space, allowing for larger herds of zebras, wildebeest, and impalas. This paves the way for further habitat expansions in the future.

·        New Wildlife Arrivals: The zoo recently welcomed Raya (a Sumatran orangutan), Bubba (a harbor seal), and several exotic birds in the tropical dome.

·        Train Upgrades: After more than 60 years, the zoo's historic train was upgraded with a new electric engine and fully refurbished passenger cars.
