IPRA Research Committee
IPRA has re-created the Research Committee under the leadership of ISU Recreation and Sport Management professor, Dr. Nathan A. Schaumleffel. The committee has met with IPRA President John Drew, and identified key people in Indiana’s institutions of higher education, who will serve on the IPRA Research Committee/Editorial Board.
For 2009, the IPRA Research Committee is doing the following:
- Publishing at least one peer-reviewed web-extra research article in IPRA Profile in conjunction with the IPRA Communications Committee.
- Hosting an IPRA Recreation Research Symposium (formatted after the NRPA Leisure Research Symposium) in conjunction with the IPRA Conference Committee.
- Developing a Research Section of the IPRA web site. This web site will include all web-extra peer-reviewed research articles; archive all IPRA Recreation Research Symposium presentations and posters; and all calls for papers and presentations.
Research articles, poster presentations, and recreation research symposium proposals that focus on Indiana-based recreation research and Indiana higher education community engagement and service-learning research projects will take priority in the acceptance processes. More detailed publication guidelines and presentation proposal submission processes will be posted on the Research Section of the IPRA web site soon. Faculty, graduate students, undergraduate students, and practitioners are encouraged to submit manuscripts and presentation proposals.
For more information, to submit a paper, or to share your interest in serving on the IPRA Research Committee, look for the web page in the Education and Research tab on the IPRA website or please contact:
