Dear Colleague:
Welcome to the website for the Indiana Park and Recreation Association. The site has been redone and has been designed for ease of navigation once one is familiar with the site and its offerings.
Members of the Association are proud of its programs. As its Executive Director, I am sure that everyone will want to participate in some or all of them. The "Events" portion of our site contains information on programs which are being offered in our current fiscal year.
Benefits of membership in the Association are measured by those who are members. Like anything, someone receives from membership what is given to it by that individual. The Association has three (3) vital missions. Each of these is equally important to our membership. These are:
- Advocacy: Our members are the best advocates for parks and recreation that we have. The Association is represented, legislatively, on the national, state, and local level. To ensure our efforts are a success, we need the support of each member when called upon as they are a constituent of a Senator or Representative where they reside in Indiana.
- Professional Development: The Association offers an Annual Conference and various Workshops throughtout the year. Professional Certification programs are, also, available.
- Member Services: Perhaps the most popular service the Association offers is the opportunity to network at our meetings and workshops with fellow professionals within the field. The knowledge gained from these interactions enhances program offerings by an agency. The Association's website and magazine, "Profile," are ,also, popular member services.
I feel that the Association has a lot to offer for those in the parks and recreation field as well as interested citizens. If you are not already a member, please consider joining us.
