Benefits of Membership
Develop Professional Contacts
Meet with other professionals in the parks and recreation field who are eager to share ideas.
Members meet monthly in the Northern, Central or Southern districts. District meetings include educational sessions and park tours and provide the opportunity for better communication and friendships among members.
IPRA sponsors various seminars and workshops which serve the specialized areas and needs of the Park and Recreation members.
At the Indiana Park and Recreation Association Annual Conference, approximately 500 professionals exchange ideas and information in educational sessions, meetings, social gatherings and an awards banquet. In addition, 40 to 50 exhibitors demonstrate and display park and recreation equipment and supplies.
IPRA is active in monitoring legislative activities and promoting legislation which benefits parks and recreation.
State-wide athletic and special events are sponsored each year. Local park and recreation departments also cooperate in coordinating such events as the Hershey National Youth Track and Field Program, White River State Park Games and Punt Pass and Kick.
